LCP are pleased to announce a ground-breaking new service partnership with the European Club Association (ECA). The partnership is focused on Women’s football clubs within the ECA’s network.

The ECA’s membership spans over 230 clubs, including Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli, Ajax and Lyon. As part of the partnership, ECA member clubs can secure a subscription to Analytics FC’s TransferLab data analytics platform. In March, LCP, in collaboration with Analytics FC, announced the launch of the first standalone Women’s Football Data analytics platform. This was developed in response to the rapid growth of the women’s game over the last few years. The platform aggregates over 5,000 players in 20 leagues globally including England (both Women’s Super League and Championship), USA, Spain, Germany, Australia, Iceland, Denmark, France, Mexico, Norway, Russia, Sweden, Belarus, Brazil, Finland, Italy, New Zealand, Rep. Ireland and Ukraine.

In the same month, the ECA announced the publication of its first-ever women’s football strategy -‘Be a Changemaker’—which aims to help the progression of women’s football through creative actions to deliver lasting positive change.

One of the key areas around which the “Be a Changemaker” strategy revolves is “accelerated professionalisation” which looks to give clubs the opportunity to access innovative services and products. It was this initiative that led the ECA and LCP to collaborate.

More information about TransferLab can be found on our website and also in this presentation introducing the platform for the women’s game.

The ECA introductory offer for TransferLab is valid from 1 - 30 June 2021 and includes:

  • 14-day free trial of the platform
  • 20% discount for the first year, if choosing to purchase a full license

All ECA members and ECA Women’s Football Committee participants are invited to contact ECA’s Member Services team at services@ecaeurope.com for more information and activation of this offer.

Bart Huby, Partner and Head of Football Analytics at LCP, said:

“It’s fantastic news to see the ECA launch their strategy for the women’s game. Partnering with them to help deliver this through use of our analytics platform TransferLab is exciting. We look forward to increasing the visibility and application of data in the game, and to supporting decision makers in women’s football clubs with their player recruitment and development.”

Claire Bloomfield, ECA’s Head of Women’s Football added:

“Data-driven insights to support recruitment and player development are essential tools for elite clubs. Whilst they are commonplace in the men’s game, there has been little to no offering dedicated to the women’s – until now. In line with ECA’s ambition to be at the forefront of positive change and innovation, we are delighted to partner with TransferLab and take this game-changing platform to leading women’s teams around Europe.”

Jeremy Steele, CEO at Analytics FC, echoed her sentiments, saying,

“We’re really excited to be helping the ECA to accelerate the development of the women’s game especially with regards to the use of data. It has taken too long for the analytics world to make the move into women’s football. We hope that by helping to facilitate this shift, there will be a net gain both to the women’s game but also to the analytics industry.”
