LCP’s Football Analytics team are pleased to announce that Santos FC of Brazil are the latest client to sign up to our flagship football player data-scouting platform, TransferLab, developed in partnership with leading football consultancy Analytics FC. Santos are the first club in Brazil signed up to use TransferLab, meaning that the platform is now used by around 30 clubs in 11 countries across three continents.
Santos are one of the most successful teams in the history of Brazilian football and, to many, symbolise “O Jogo Bonito” (the Beautiful Game) due to the phenomenal team assembled during the 1960s, led by the late, great Pelé. The club's most recent success was in 2016, when they won the Campeonato Paulista, although they were also beaten finalists in the 2020 Copa Libertadores.
Bart Huby, Head of Football Analytics at LCP, said “We are delighted that Santos FC have signed up to use the TransferLab platform. At LCP, we believe that insight arrived at through intelligent use of data helps drive good decision-making and mitigates risks. This is as true in the football transfer market as it is in the other sectors in which we work. Santos is a club with a significant reputation and history, and clearly one that can be very forward-thinking too.”
Analytics FC CEO Jeremy Steele added, "Santos wants to work with cutting-edge data tools and we are excited to add our expertise to Santos' workflow and help the club achieve their goals in domestic and continental competition."
Santos' Head of Match and Tactical Analysis, Maickel Bach Padilha, added, "We are delighted to be working with Analytics FC and their TransferLab platform. We were immediately impressed with their approach and the quality of the platform. We are always looking for ways to add depth and quality to our processes, and TransferLab will do exactly this, helping us make informed decisions in the market."
