Let's talk

Rachika Cooray

Partner and Head of Governance

I lead LCP’s trustee secretarial and governance consulting services and I am responsible for growing and developing our service areas, team and client base. I also help to oversee LCP's Trustee Training services.

As a professional trustee secretary, my role is to ease the ever increasing burden placed on trustees so they can focus on the things that matter most. I proactively help trustees to manage their business and ensure that nothing is missed. I really enjoy acting as a trustee secretary as it enables me to build strong working relationships with my trustees and be involved in a number of interesting projects.

As a governance specialist, I consult on a number of issues such as board effectiveness, risk management and trustee training and help trustees and companies put in place practical actions to improve their performance.

I enjoy sharing my ideas and experience on good governance and best practice with others in the industry and have been involved in reviewing the Regulator’s recent campaign on 21st Century Trusteeship. I also regularly speak at seminar and training sessions and I chair LCP’s Trustee Secretary Forum for in house trustee secretaries and pensions managers.

We decided to outsource the role of Scheme Secretary to LCP just before we embarked on a fast-track journey to buy-in, buy-out and wind-up. It was a demanding project for the Trustees but Rachika made our jobs easier by providing proactive, expert support to help us stay focused on strategic matters.
