LCP's report 2023: Highlights of our stewardship and responsible investment activities
Events of the past year – the gilts crisis and the cost-of living crisis resulting from high inflation and increasing interest rates – have highlighted the importance of effective governance and stewardship.
Whilst much of the focus over the past year has been dealing with these immediate issues, we note the need to deal with the longer-term systemic risks – such as climate change – facing our clients and society in general. These risks can only be mitigated through strong stewardship and engagement. We will continue to promote good stewardship to help address these risks and protect our clients, society and the planet.
Our third stewardship report highlights how we have helped our clients with their stewardship and responsible investment activities over the year to 31 March 2023 through the services and advice we’ve provided. It also describes how we as an investment service provider have implemented the principles of the UK Stewardship Code 2020.
