Andrew Turton
I have over 20 years of experience in the low carbon energy sector, researching and providing consultancy. My interests and expertise spans the full spectrum of the energy transition, including low carbon building technology and design, energy networks, and broader energy system operation and policy, and I have provided strategic and policy-level advice across these topics to many types of clients including government bodies, local authorities, national agencies, and various commercial organisations.
I am currently Head of Consulting in LCP Delta with responsibility for our team of 50+ consultants, and have a particular focus on our energy networks, flexibility, and hydrogen consulting projects. My technical specialisms include techno-economic analysis of energy systems, impact analysis, and energy system scenario modelling. I have also spent a large part of my career advising on district heating and I have led a wide range of heat network feasibility and design studies alongside providing advice to the UK government.
Previously, I was Regional Director at AECOM, where I led a sustainability team, and prior to that with Element Energy.
I hold an MSc in Applied Physics and a PhD in Microsystems Technology from the University of Durham, and I am a Chartered Engineer (CEng MInstP).
