Gurpal Singh Ruprai

I am a Senior Consultant in the Energy Analytics team at LCP, with 10 years’ experience within the energy industry. My prior experience includes demand forecasting, hedging and thermal asset optimisation roles in the optimisation departments for both Centrica and EDF Energy.

I specialise in the modelling and commercial optimisation of generation assets, having worked particularly closely with coal and gas fired plants. I have worked with site operations and maintenance teams to explain how macro changes to the market will impact day to day operations, plan large-scale maintenance activities, value potential commercial upgrades, value business interruption insurance claims and to renegotiate their long term maintenance contract. The knowledge and experience gained onsite was then applied to the short and long term dispatch of the assets, informing decisions made by shift trading, finance and hedging teams.

My role is to bring experienced insight into the modelling and operations of individual generation assets. This ensures our advice across areas such as commercial optimisation, upgrades and revenue stacking is rooted in feasible and pragmatic solutions. I also aid our clients in understanding the impacts of policy change on their plant, competitor behaviour, investor outlook and the overall system.
