Ruth Ward

I joined LCP in 2023 with 16 years of experience in helping defined benefit (DB) pension trustee and corporate clients manage/reduce risk, liabilities and costs in their DB pension arrangements. Since 2013, I have focussed on advising longevity de-risking transactions, including PPF+ and solvent buy-ins/buyouts, hybrid buyouts (DC/DB underpin), DB consolidator offerings, buy-in restructures, trigger-based and M&A-driven deals.

I am passionate about developing cost-effective and robust solutions for the myriad of UK pension schemes and helping my clients to grasp the best opportunities the buy-in/buy-out and wider de-risking market has to offer. I was thrilled to be shortlisted for the Professional Pensions Women in Pensions Awards in two recent years (2019 – Change Excellence, 2020 – Innovation).

I enjoy writing and the challenge of articulating complex topics in an accessible way and regularly provide market commentary through press and topical de-risking articles.

When I’m not working, I love running (5k/10k/cross country), hill walking, real food and having fun as the mother to two lively under 10s.
