ONS Health Index
See the health index in your area, how it has changed over time and compares to other local authorities.
Developed by the ONS, the Health Index looks at a broad variety of health outcomes and risk factors over time, and for different geographic areas across England. This allows you to see how an area is doing across many domains of health compared to elsewhere in the country.
The Index is divided into three main categories:
- Healthy people - health outcomes, ensuring representation of the population as a whole.
- Healthy lives - lifestyle, behaviour, modifiable risk factors.
- Healthy places - wider determinants of health, environmental factors.
For background on the index, please see the ONS website.
