Dr Mattia Ficarelli

I am a Senior Health Data Engineer and Consultant with LCP's Health Analytics team. I completed my PhD in retroviral genetics at King’s College London, during which I worked in collaboration with GSK, and published several peer-reviewed journal articles. Subsequently, I joined the NHS, where I specialised in analytics and engineering. While at the NHS, I developed and maintained advanced data platforms, aiding in the implementation and monitoring of digital programs across primary and secondary healthcare settings. Additionally, I served as an Executive Committee member of the NHS Python Community for Healthcare, an open community that advocates for the use of the Python programming language and open-source coding within the NHS.

At LCP, my responsibilities include leveraging my expertise in bioinformatics, engineering, and health services data to create innovative analytics and technology solutions. My primary focus is on implementing AI-driven data integration and visualization tools, as well as developing advanced computing frameworks for analysing large-scale human genetic data. My work strives to simplify complex datasets and provide actionable insights to decision-makers in the health and life sciences sector.
