Transmission networks

Analysis and advice on the future of transmission network charging to help clients build their asset’s investment case and understand the risks around future regulatory changes.

Transmission Network Use of System (TNUoS) charges are a significant cost for new energy investments required to deliver the energy transition. Understanding their evolution and risks is vital to building their business case.

We provide clients with analysis, advice and forecasts of the future of transmission network charging to help clients build their asset’s investment case and understand the risks around future regulatory changes.

LCP Delta continues to advise and work alongside Ofgem, National Grid ESO and industry on regulatory reform for network charges including TNUoS, providing impact assessments and supporting analysis. We are therefore well positioned to understand the future of network charging and provide analytics to support your assets.

We have provided analytical support for the TNUoS taskforce and helped industry participants make the case for change for charging reforms, including CMP393 and CMP405 for storage. We have worked more broadly with Ofgem on charging reform, including the Targeted Charging Review.

Our in-house modelling of TNUoS builds on our expertise in GB power market forecasting to provide our latest view of GB decarbonisation pathways.

We built our model in-house to replicate National Grid ESO’s methodology closely, but to give us flexibility to adapt it easily to reflect and analyse potential charging reforms and their impact on our clients.

We deliver granular forecasts of tariffs in easy-to-use output templates which allow you to explore different reform potential charging reforms in combination, with bespoke dashboards for your assets.

We can provide both off-the-shelf forecasts and bespoke forecasts which integrate your market scenarios or views into our forecasting, to provide you with a consistent market view for internal use.
